Grace always had a flair for fashion. As a child she would frequently go shopping with her mother and sister to local boutiques. Graces mother Noreen had an eye for fashion and loved dressing her and her sister Avril up. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!!
During college Grace worked many part time jobs in retail in Benetton, Brown Thomas and Claire’s Accessories. A J1 Summer in a Jewellery store and a 6 month work placement at Wawa in New Jersey, USA.
After Grace qualified with a Food Business Degree from UCC in 2008, she had worked for a Medical Company that year part time and once graduated they offered her a permanent role. She met her now husband Ray the same year and romance blossomed, marrying in 2012. Opening her own Boutique was always a dream, Grace always wanted to have her own business. Grace and Ray would often chat about it but there was always a little fear holding her back. Until 2014 when she found a lovely little premises in her neighbouring town of Ballincollig. It was perfect, work began quickly to decorate and to source designer brands. She opened on the 1st of March 2014 and she hasn’t looked back since.
With Graces honest opinion, customer focus and helpful nature the business flourished and in 2017 she moved to a larger premises two doors up. Welcoming baby Bobby in 2018, Grace claims is her biggest achievement. She now has two babies in Silk Peaches and Bobby.
Grace always says people buy from people and this is why there is a vast amount of repeat business. Silk Peaches isn’t just a boutique it’s a hub for fashion, fun and girly chats.
